  • If your primary focus is post-procedural soreness: Consider patient-specific oral analgesia and appropriate local aftercare, while evaluating unexpected pain for excessive thermal injury or another complication.

When topical anesthesia fails, safe escalation means reassessing the procedure and adding appropriately supervised regional or infiltrative anesthesia—not applying more topical anesthetic.
